Another Do-Over

We made it to a new year. I’m shouting in my spirit. Singing songs of praise to the only one who made it possible, my Father – our Father. The Lord has been so good to us. He allowed us to enter into 2023. He fashioned our lives, and blessed us with many blessings seen and unseen. Nobody but God could do it. No one! He gets all the glory! His hand has been on all of us. The Spirit of the Living God is upon us; therefore, what can man do to us (Ps. 118; 56:1-4)? Hallelujah!

1 O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever! 8 It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust and take refuge in the Lord than to put confidence in princes.

Psalm 118:1,8-9

My sister, we’ve come so far. We’ve been hit with many blows, but we’re still here. We’ve made countless mistakes, but we’re still here. By the grace of God, we’re still here! We are clothed in our right minds. Oh, let us praise God today!

I don’t know what may happen in 2023. I’m not certain what the future holds. But what I do know is this: I serve a God – the only true, living God – who holds our world in His hand. Our lives are secure in His hands (Jn 10:28-29)! We may not live to see another day. Tomorrow is not promised. We may not be here on this side next month or next year. Nevertheless, we have an everlasting home not made by hands (2 Cor. 5:1). This world is not our home. We’re just strangers passing through. Our great Savior has prepared a place for us, our eternal home and hope in glory. God has adopted us into His royal family. Because of Christ, we are no longer dirty, wretched souls separated from our Creator. Now, we are heirs to the King of kings (Gal. 4:7), washed clean in the blood of the Lamb! Amen.

My friend, we’ve crossed over into 2023! What we didn’t do right in 2022, we can make right in this new year. Those things that failed, dreams that were forgotten, and goals abandoned, God is giving us another chance, a do-over. We get to try again. Praise God! That’s what I love about a New Year. By the grace of God, our Heavenly Father gives us the opportunity to try all over again. It’s a gigantic dose of God’s never-ending mercy being seen and on display for 365 days. Wow! For His mercies are new every morning! Not yesterday’s mercy, but brand-new mercies for today. Oh, what a wonderful Father!

The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease.

Lamentation 3:22-23 NLT

Happy New Year, my friend! Now, let’s walk in freedom together!

Your sis,

Rhovonda
