Walking in Freedom into 2026
Scripture
“When anyone is in Christ, it is a whole new world. The old things are gone; suddenly, everything is new!”
— 2 Corinthians 5:17 (ERV)
As we prepare to close out 2025 and step into 2026, this scripture reminds us of a powerful truth we’ve returned to again and again while walking in freedom: who we are in Christ changes everything.
Being in Christ doesn’t mean we didn’t struggle this year. It doesn’t mean we didn’t wrestle with doubt, fear, disappointment, or weariness. But it does mean that none of those things have the final word. In Christ, the old no longer has authority over us. The weight we once carried does not get to cross into the new season unless we choose to bring it along.
Freedom is not about forgetting what happened — it’s about no longer being bound by it.
Throughout Walking in Freedom, we are reminded that true freedom begins when we surrender. Surrendering old thought patterns. Surrendering past hurts. Surrendering the need to control outcomes. As this year comes to an end, God may be inviting us to do just that — to lay down what we were never meant to carry into the next season.

Releasing the Old
As you reflect on 2025, ask yourself:
- What has God already healed that I keep revisiting?
- What fear or mindset no longer aligns with who I am in Christ?
- What am I holding onto that God is asking me to release?
Scripture tells us the old things are gone. Walking in freedom means agreeing with that truth — even when it feels uncomfortable to let go. We cannot fully embrace the new while gripping the old.
Stepping into the New — Free on Purpose
Entering 2026, we are not walking in blindly. We are walking forward with intention, with faith, and with freedom. The newness God promises isn’t always loud or immediate — sometimes it begins quietly, with a renewed mind and a softened heart.
Freedom looks like trusting God one step at a time.
Freedom looks like obedience, even when the path isn’t clear.
Freedom looks like believing that God is still working — even when we’re waiting.
If you are in Christ, this is not just a new year — it is a new world. One shaped by grace, led by purpose, and anchored in God’s truth.
A Walking in Freedom Prayer
Lord, thank You for making all things new. As we close out 2025, help us release what no longer aligns with who You’ve called us to be. Teach us to walk in freedom — not bound by the past, not anxious about the future, but confident in You. As we step into 2026, renew our minds, strengthen our faith, and guide our steps. We trust You with what’s ahead. Amen.
Now, let’s walk in freedom together!
