You never know what someone is going through. We don’t know the kinds of personal battles another person may be facing. I am guilty of being in my little bubble focusing on me and mine. Many times I’m so enthralled by what’s happening in my life that I might neglect to notice what someone else might be feeling or experiencing.
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
Ephesians 4:29 ESV
I may not see that the brother I pass by every day at work or the sister who greets me with a beautiful smile is facing a giant that I can’t even imagine. Yet, at times, I cloud my mind with trivial things such as she didn’t speak to me today, not taking it into consideration that she might be dealing with a life altering situation. Or perhaps that person standing next to me is living through some kind of hell.
So, I must be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and more discerning of a person’s disposition. I must have compassion for the people I see every day because they could be fighting for their lives.
Let’s be conscious of how we respond to people and their circumstances. Be careful of our thoughts and words. May we think before we speak and respond. Remember, we don’t know what she or he could be encountering.
Happy Friday! Have a wonderful Friday and weekend! Now, let’s walk in freedom together.
